Hurricane Ian Update | Sarasota FL | David Barr Realtor

Hurricane Ian is approaching and I' ve got some updates for you.

Sarasota County has posted mandatory evacuation s for zone A. Surrounding counties have mandatory evacuations for zones A and B. Zone A lies mostly west of Tamiami Trail in Sarasota County.

The storm track has shifted east and it looks like Sarasota will take a more direct hit. Sarasota does not have the historic flooding problem that Tampa has.

Bridges to the barrier islands will be closed today by 7pm. Water and electric service will also be turned off.

If you own a condo, your association dues cover payment for flood insurance for the struction. You should have insurance for your personal contents and things like appliances and components of your HVAC system.
