SARASOTA NEW CONSTRUCTION HOME INSPECTIONS
Should you have an inspection of a Sarasota new construction home?
THE NEW CONSTRUCTION PROCESS
I recently attended a seminar by a new home builder. Did you know that from site preparation to closing, a new home in Sarasota County is inspected by a county inspector over 50 times?

Building codes are constantly changing. Slab foundations must be a certain thickness, and concrete reinforcements and roof tie downs are major new construction elements.

A COUNTY CODE INSPECTION IS DIFFERENT
Sarasota County new construction inspectors are checking the builder versus current code. They check for the correct use of materials and check against the code for windows, roofs, and insulation. They do not always check for proper installation or placement of critical items for a new home buyer.
GET YOUR OWN HOME INSPECTION
Most consumer home inspectors will compare the construction of your home versus the blueprint. They will check for proper placement of plumbing and electrical outlets, lighting, check roofs, and any possible foundation issues.
Some inspectors will make multiple visits during the construction process to make sure your home is as perfect as possible when you take possession.
